It's kind of like the shochet/surgeon analogy lol, never sat right with me.
But you remember school... all those weird socially strange theatre kids, they all turned out pretty well.

yehoram gaon

There is a letter on the internet in beautiful Hebrew presumably written by Yehoram Gaon's father to the Kerem high school in Yerusalayim. In it he complains how his son isn't doing his homework and apparantly isn't paying attention in school. He feels this is because the school is allowing him to engage in all sorts of theatrical performances and stuff rather than learning something for making a living.

For the unitiated, Yehoram Gaon has been a major figure on the Israeli entertainment stage for some 40 years.

I went to a Bais Yaakov. We didn't really have "theatre kids". As for weird and socially strange . . . yes, I do like to think I turned out pretty well. ;)

Yeah and I guess in Jewish schools, everyone's part of the book of the month club...

Purim Sameach everyone!

My friend in charge of one of the Minyanim here at YU asked me at 7:30pm tonight at Shalushides(Shabbos' Third Meal): "So, uh...Do you know where we could find about 100 Megillot in...uh...15 minutes?"

So two friends and I went across campus and waited until Shabbos got out at 7:48, said Baruch HaMavdil Bein Kodesh L'Chol (Blessed is the One who Distinguishes Holiness from Humdrum) and headed back with two full boxes =D

Purim is awesome. Chagiga (Festive Partay) tonight!

Haha yes. Some Jews from the Exile of Ashkenaz slur the words massively with a bit of a Yiddishy twist.

And that particular example is one of the more impressively mangled ones.
